Plan, Activity, and Intent Recognition (PAIR)

Plan, Activity, and Intent Recognition (PAIR) is an area of research in artificial intelligence, that deals with the problem of inferring the plans, goals, intentions, and beliefs of agents, humans, and robots -- all from observing their behavior.  For example, seeing a person moving in a airport terminal, can we tell where she is heading?  whether she means harm, or perhaps is lost?   We have been developing efficient, capable algorithms for PAIR, as well as models that explain how humans carry out PAIR tasks (i.e., how humans recognize what others are doing).
